MANILA, Philippines - Investigators will reenact the attack on the house of Banco Filipino owner Albert “Bobby” Aguirre and interviewing more witnesses to establish why 10 men barged into the compound and killed three security personnel, an official said yesterday.
Las Piñas police chief Senior Superintendent Romulo Sapitula said they have created Task Force Tropical, named after Aguirre’s house on Tropical Avenue in BF Homes International, “to build up our case.”
He declined to give details of their investigation but said they are revisiting the crime scene to match forensic evidence retrieved by investigators.
Sapitula said they will trace the trajectories of bullets vis-à-vis the autopsy reports on victims security guard David Manguera, retired Senior Police Officer 2 Melvin Padaca and PO3 Luisito Macatunao.
The attack on Aguirre’s house was caught by a surveillance camera, which showed at least 10 men in two private cars, a taxi and a motorcycle getting into the compound. The footage also showed the attackers fleeing the house.
Sapitula said they are still in the process of enhancing the footage to get more details.
Investigators are also looking into the background of the three security personnel who were shot dead.
“We want to know their activities… This will help investigators come up with a good theory,” Southern Police District director Chief Superintendent Benito Estipona told The STAR over the phone. The SPD supervises seven cities, including Las Piñas. – Perseus Echeminada, Aie Balagtas See
