MANILA, Philippines - A pedicab driver was found dead, with two knives embedded in his chest, on a stone bench in Paraiso Park in Binondo, Manila before dawn yesterday.
Senior Police Officer 2 Edmundo Cabal said victim Reagan Palongalinggalingan, 25, had been drinking with his brother-in-law, barangay councilman Mario Macalla, at around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Macalla said the victim left shortly afterward. A witness saw the victim’s body lying on the park bench at past 2 a.m.
The victim had been repeatedly stabbed and his intestines could be seen, police said.
Barangay executive officer Donato Casais of Barangay 275, Zone 25, reported the discovery of the body to the San Nicolas Police Community Precinct.
The body was brought to the St. Yvan Funeral Home for autopsy and safekeeping.
