MMDA eyes rotundas to ease traffic woes

MANILA, Philippines - The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is planning to build rotundas in problematic roads to ease traffic problems in the metropolis.

Chairman Francis Tolentino said these rotundas are similar to the one they put in Baclaran. He said the MMDA will build rotundas for the Sauyo Road-Quirino Avenue intersection in Quezon City.

He said rotundas can make roads safer because drivers can avoid speeding at intersections.

Tolentino said he will also recommend that officials of Taytay, Rizal put up a rotunda along Cabrera Road in Barangay Dolores, where a wayward truck killed six people.
