MANILA, Philippines - Police are now investigating the murder of a mother and his seven-year-old son who were found dead inside their rented home in a residential area at the University of the Philippines (UP) campus in Diliman, Quezon City yesterday afternoon.
Homicide probers believe the victims, identified as Edna Brizuela, 38, and his son Jadie of Green Thumb Garden, C.P. Garcia Street, Barangay UP Campus, Quezon City, has been dead for two or three days.
The bodies of the victims were found shortly before 3 p.m. with multiple stab wounds in the chest and the stomach.
Police are now tracking down the suspect who was identified only as Biogno, Brizuela’s live-in partner.
Senior Police Officer 2 Rafael de Peralta of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) said neighbors are also being asked for their statements in an effort to shed light into the incident.
He said Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 9 operatives were first to respond to the scene after the victim’s brother found the victims and reported the same to authorities.
Investigators said Brizuela’s brother, Danilo found her sister’s body inside the cabinet at her bedroom, while the boy’s body was on the bed.
De Peralta said SPO2 Christopher Ronquillo also of the QCPD-CIDU has been tasked to lead the investigation in an effort to locate and arrest the suspect.
