MANILA, Philippines - A woman who suspected a teenage girl of having an affair with her husband stabbed the girl in the head with a pair of scissors in Navotas City Monday night.
Victim Marden Bernardino, 18, was walking home in Barangay Tangos when her neighbor, Christine Crisostomo, 25, attacked her at around 8:30 p.m., according to a report by Police Officer 1 Jennelyn Manabat.
The scissors allegedly punctured Bernardino’s skull. Manabat said the victim was rushed to the Tondo General Hospital, where she is under observation.
Crisostomo reportedly tried to escape but the commotion had drawn the attention of village watchmen, who cornered her before she could leave the scene. She is detained at the police jail and faces a case of frustrated murder.
