MANILA, Philippines - Six Koreans and 14 Filipino employees were arrested while in the act of playing illegal online baccarat in a series of raids at a condominium last Friday in Pasig City.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr. said the raids were conducted in Unit OB-2 and OC-2 at the second floor of the Crescent Condominium in Pasig City.
Pagdilao said the operations were carried out by virtue of two search warrants issued by Manila Judge Marino de la Cruz of the Regional Trial Court Branch 22.
The CIDG Anti-Transnational and Cyber Crime Division (ATCCD) identified the Koreans as Lee Dewook, 41, the operations manager of the alleged illegal gambling den; Mini Ji Su, 25; An Bong Hee, 36; Cho Hyun Woo, 31; Jean Miae, 36; and Kin Jungho, 29; all maintainers and operators of the gambling den.
During the raids, ATCCD chief Senior Superintendent Gilbert Sosa said his men confiscated some six sets of computers with CCTV and effect mixer, four computer sets with scanners, six baccarat tables, three cartons of game cards and several gambling paraphernalia.
The 20 persons arrested were charged with violating the anti-illegal gambling law.
