MANILA, Philippines - At least P500,000 worth of chemicals used in the manufacture of shabu was seized from a house in Manila by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Saturday afternoon.
Crispin Tallo, 44, of Bambang street in Sta. Cruz, Manila was arrested in the operation spearheaded by the anti-narcotics agency’s Metro Manila Regional Office (MMRO).
PDEA agents seized a kilo of ephedrine, a bottle of hydrochloric acid, a bottle of ethanol, three bottles of iodine, three bottles of sodium hydroxide and a roll of filter paper.
In a report to PDEA director general Jose Gutierrez, MMRO chief Wilkins Villanueva said the raid was based on a tip regarding the presence of suspicious chemicals inside the suspect’s house.
