MANILA, Philippines - Police have confiscated hundreds of bales of imported used clothing and rags locally known as “ukay-ukay,” worth P2.2 million in simultaneous raids of four warehouses in Metro Manila.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr., said elements of the CIDGs Detection and Special Operations Division (DSOD) raided the warehouses in Banaue, Quezon City, Tayuman and Sta. Cruz in Manila and in Caloocan City last Monday.
Pagdilao said DSOD chief Senior Superintendent Albert Ignatius Ferro and his men were armed with search warrants issued by Judge Edgardo Caldona of the Makati City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 65.
