MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested three suspected motorcycle robbers early morning Tuesday in Malabon City.
Superintendent Rio Gatacilo, Malabon City police deputy chief, said Ariel Sevilla, Bin Jay Mateo and Marinel Santos were apprehended at a checkpoint in Barangay Dampalit at around 8 a.m.
The suspects, aboard a blue motorcycle (5964-NR), were pulled over by an anti-carjacking team led by Inspector Anthony Coyle for an initial violation of the helmet law. PO2 Ritchie Gonzales of the Malabon City police traffic enforcement unit then recognized the motorcycle as that of his brother Redentor Gonzales, which was reported stolen while parked in front of his house in Barangay Tañong.
