Pasay shabu distribution network busted

Manila, Philippines - The Pasay City police announced yesterday the arrest of a big-time drug courier who yielded a list of shabu distribution points in various pasts of the city.

Pasay City police chief Senior Superintendent Napoleon Cuaton said the arrest of Pedro Vergara, a resident of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte early this week neutralized the shabu network in the city.

Cuaton said the suspect was arrested along Libertad near Cuenca street after he was stopped by policemen when he was spotted driving a motorcyle without helmet.

He said the suspect yielded an unlicensed .45 caliber pistol, shabu sachets and list of customers in Pasay City.

Cuaton said they are now deciphering the coded names and places where the illegal drugs were distributed.

The suspect is facing charges of illegal possession of firearms, transporting of prohibited drugs and traffic violation for riding motorcycle without helmet.
