MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Internal Revenue has awarded the P500,000 reward money to the informant who led police to arrest the alleged gunman in the killing of Revenue District Officer Marcelino Yap.
The suspect, Armando Cariño was positively identified by the informant, his nephew, as the triggerman in the killing that happened right in front of the BIR executive’s office.
Yap was gunned down while he was on his way to work in Marikina last Feb. 17.
BIR Commissioner Kim Henares handed over the P500,000 cash to the unnamed informant in the presence of Superintendent Christopher Laxa and Chief Inspector Agosto Daskeo.
