MMDA reroutes traffic as flyover repair starts

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will reroute vehicular traffic along Osmeña Highway today as the Department of Public Works and Highways starts the repair of the Gil Puyat Avenue flyover.

The northbound lane of the highway will be partly closed at around 9 p.m., and the MMDA is advising northbound motorists coming from the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) to turn left on EDSA, make a right on Roxas Boulevard, and proceed to their destinations.

From SLEX, motorists may take a right on EDSA, then turn left on Ayala Avenue, make another left to Metropolitan Avenue, left to Vito Cruz, and the proceed to their destination.

Southbound motorists coming from Roxas Boulevard and Port Area, may take a left on EDSA and proceed to their destination.

From Osmeña Highway, southbound motorists may take a right on Vito Cruz, make a left on Alejo Aquino, Filmore or Dian streets and then make a left to Faraday, Honduras or Rockefeller streets to their destination.

The MMDA and DPWH say the project will take from 90 to 120 calendar days to complete.
