MANILA, Philippines - The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is hoping to get a breakthrough in investigating the abduction and slay try on veteran actress Pilar Pilapil in Marikina City last April 14.
CIDG director Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao Jr. said investigators and agents of Task Force Pilar will hold a case conference today at the CIDG headquarters.
“After the case conference (on Monday) we will have our update (on the case),” Pagdilao said in a text message to The STAR.
Investigators have yet to release information on the whereabouts of Pilapil’s companion and sister-in-law, Rosel Jakosalem Penas, and a gold Kia Carnival taken by two men believed to be carjackers.
Probers have released a computerized illustration of one of the men who attacked Pilapil and a photograph of Penas to encourage the public to inform the police on their whereabouts.
