MANILA, Philippines - Two of four suspected robbers were killed in an alleged shootout with responding policemen in Sampaloc, Manila Thursday night.
One of the slain suspects was identified as Eduardo Delmo.
Policemen on patrol led by Chief Inspector Rayan Ador chanced upon a robbery in progress in a passenger jeepney (DHV-780) driven by Arturo Laguiso.
The lawmen tried to arrest the four suspects, who shot at them. Two of the suspects were killed in the firefight, while two escaped.
Seven passengers identified the slain suspects as among the robbers who held them up. Two passengers claimed a cellular phone and a black shoulder bag recovered from the suspects as theirs.
