MANILA, Philippines – Brothers Roger and Raymond Dominguez denied before the Department of Justice (DOJ) yesterday killing car trader Emerson Lozano, son of lawyer Oliver Lozano, last month.
The two alleged carjacking ring leaders appeared before Assistant State Prosecutor Eden Wakay-Valdez and submitted a joint counter-affidavit seeking dismissal of the carnapping with murder charges filed against them by the elder Lozano.
Their lawyer, Joey Cruz, said testimony of Alfred Mendiola, a common witness for the killing of Lozano and another car trader, Venson Evangelista, is not enough to establish probable cause and indict his clients.
Cruz also said the statements of another witness, Ferdinand Parulan – who supported Mendiola’s claim that the brothers were behind the killings – were inconsistent.
