Skeletal remains at La Mesa watershed identified

MANILA, Philippines - The skeletal remains of a woman found by a guard at a restricted area of the La Mesa Dam watershed in Quezon City has been identified, police said yesterday.

Police Officer 2 Loreto Tigno said the body of Soledad Sebuc, found in the premises of the Rodriguez water treatment plant the other day, was identified by her son, Simplicio, at a funeral home in Quezon City yesterday.

Along with the bones, police found a bag containing a photo album, a pair of slippers, a pair of black pants, and a senior citizen’s identification card in the name of “Soledad Sebuc” with postal address at Barangay Balagtas, Unisan town in Quezon province.

Simplicio told Tigno his mother has been missing since September last year. He said he had the incident recorded in the barangay blotter.

Simplicio described his mother as forgetful and had a tendency to go out of the house unchaperoned. He has taken his mother’s remains back to Unisan.
