MANILA, Philippines - The operator of the South Luzon Expressway, the Southh Luzon Tollways Corp. (SLTC), will hold a toll ‘holiday’ on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day Eve, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., as their gift to last-minute motorists rushing to their homes for the holidays.
Isaac David, SLTC president, said that all motorists using the newly-rehabilitated and modernized SLEX will get to do so for free during the said hours.
David said that with the “soft opening” of the Calamba to Santo Tomas, Batangas stretch, motorists using this segment will also get to use this part of this spanking-new stretch for free until Dec. 31.
The soft opening ceremonies held by the SLTC for the said stretch was graced by local officials of Laguna and Batangas, Laguna Gov. Jorge Ejercito and Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto and Vice Gov. Marc Leviste who all hailed the benefit the extended SLEX will give to their respective provinces.
