MANILA, Philippines - Two men were arrested in Malabon City Wednesday while they were allegedly dismantling a stolen motorcycle, police said yesterday.
Alejandro Olasco, 28; and Christopher Obregon, 36; including an alleged fencer Bembol Mamales, 35, were presented to the media yesterday by Northern Police District (NPD) intelligence chief Superintendent Ferdinand del Rosario.
Josie Suarez, 36, a businesswoman from Navotas City, sought the assistance of NPD director Senior Superintendent Edgardo Ladao, claiming that at least three men were seen dismantling her Kawasaki motorcycle (QA-2375) with a black sidecar along Martiniko street in Dagat-Dagatan, Malabon City.
Del Rosario said Suarez’s tricycle was stolen while it was parked in front her house Monday night.
Three policemen sent to verify Suarez’s report caught Olasco and Obregon red-handed but another suspect, Carlos Buenaventura, alias Edgar Buenaventura, escaped.
Police recovered only the chassis, engine, and a few parts of Suarez’s tricycle from the two men but recovered other parts from Mamales, who was arrested in a follow-up operation.
