MANILA, Philippines – The anti-crime campaign of the Navotas City government has gained the full support of newly installed Northern Police District director Senior Superintendent Edgardo Ladao.
Mayor John Rey Tiangco met the NPD director and the city police chief Superintendent Bernard Tambaoan at the City Hall during Ladao’s courtesy call Monday where they discussed the peace and order situation in the city. Ladao assured the mayor of his command’s “full support” to the anti-crime programs of the city government.
Tiangco has recently revived the local government’s Kilos Kontra Krimen program, which focuses on combating street crimes, particularly the proliferation of illegal drugs.
The KKK was also mandated to safeguard residents particularly students, teachers and school authorities from falling prey to criminal elements.
Meanwhile, former Navotas City police chief Senior Superintendent Eric Serafin Reyes was reassigned Tuesday as the new police chief of Valenzuela City. Reyes replaced Senior Superintendent Ranier Idio, who was transferred as chief of Camp Crame’s Public Safety and Protection Group.
Last week, Senior Superintendent Jude Santos, who was transferred to the NPD headquarters during the May elections, returned to his old post as Caloocan City police chief.
