MANILA, Philippines - An alleged member of the dreaded Pagtakhan robbery group was arrested by authorities in Pasay City shortly before midnight the other day.
Police identified the suspect as Zarlouie Santiago or “Loloy Galis.” He was believed to be one of the most trusted men of group leader Jennis “Snake” Bravo Pagtakhan. Santiago was arrested by Pasay police’s Special Trackers Team (STT) on Facundo St. about 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
Senior Superintendent Raul Petrasanta said Santiago even tried to resist arrest. The suspect was reportedly engaged in a drinking spree when authorities spotted him. Seized from him was an M-4 hand grenade, which the group allegedly use during their robbery operations.
The Pagtakhan gang is notorious for robbing passenger jeepneys and buses plying Pasay City. Two of their members have been killed in a chance operation with authorities.
