Slain brods' ma seeks probe into Panlilio passport

MANILA, Philippines - The mother of two brothers allegedly murdered by jeweler’s son Jose Ma. “Bong” Panlilio is asking for a thorough investigation into how the suspect acquired a genuine passport with a fictitious name from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Lawyer Carmencita de Castro, mother of murder victims Albert Gutierrez and Ariel Real, said Panlilio was holding a genuine passport issued by the DFA but with a different name.

“How did he get a genuine passport with fictitious name,” said De Castro, who could not recall the name Panli-lio used in the passport.

Panlilio, who has been wanted for robbery with double homicide for killing the brothers in Laguna in 2003, was arrested last Friday in Bangkok, Thailand.

The PNP considered Panlilio as one of the 10 most wanted persons in the Philippines for having the highest reward of P5 million for his arrest.

Calamba City Regional Trial Court Judge Antonio Manzano ordered the detention of Panlilio in the Laguna jail and set the arraignment on Tuesday.

De Castro said she has been receiving moral support to pursue her quest for justice from friends, including retired Caloocan City judge Adoracion Angeles and lawyer Pete Prinsipe.
