Navotas offers 300 jobs to residents

MANILA, Philippines - The Navotas City government will offer at least 300 jobs to residents when it launches its in-house job assistance project next week.

Mayor-elect John Rey Tiangco said the program would be held Tuesday morning at the fourth floor of the city hall under the auspices of the Public Employment Service Office and the Jobs Resources and Manpower Training department.

Tiangco said Virmar Manpower Services, Inc. needs round 200 factory workers while Ace Hardware would be hiring around 100 workers.

The project, started in 2008 by the mayor-elect, is open to all Navotas City residents who are 18 to 32 years old and at least a high school graduate, even without job experience, Tiangco said.

Tiangco said interested individuals must apply in person in “proper business attire” for interview and must bring with them their resume and 2x2 color ID pictures and other documents needed in applying for a job.

During the activity, the National Bureau of Investigation and the Navotas City barangay league and the city’s youth council federation, would also offer mobile NBI clearance service to residents.
