MANILA, Philippines - Police intelligence operatives are tracking down hired goons reportedly roaming in the Caloocan, Malabon Navotas and Valenzuela (Camanava) area who are alleged to be protected by organized crime syndicate.
Already, the Navotas City police has scored in the anti- criminality drive with the arrest of one of the notorious gun for hire killer who was working as a tricycle driver as a cover up for his criminal activities in various parts of Metro Manila. The Navotas police operatives arrested the suspect who was tagged responsible in the 2008 ambush of a relative of Manila mayoral candidate Avelino Razon Jr. at a restaurant in North Bay Boulevard in Navotas City last week.
Police Superintendent Bernard Tambaoan, Navotas City police chief identified the suspects as Lando Elson Santuile, alias Burdado. Elverio Santuile and Elvis, 45, resident of Bldg. 14, 2nd floor Vitas, Tondo, Manila.
Tambaoan said the suspect has standing warrant of arrest for the killing of Roger Maco in Malabon City. The police is still verifying the criminal records of the suspect’s possible involvement in other crimes.
The suspect, according to reports bragged about his involvement in the Jan. 20, 2008 ambush of Joselito Jumahan and Mariano Razon Pangan along Matimyas street in Sampaloc Manila. Jumahan, an overseas worker was kiled in the ambush while Pangan was critically wounded in the attack.
In Malabon City, police operatives from the Northern and Quezon City Police Districts has raided the suspected hideout of a gun-for-hire reportedly hiding in the area.
An arrested suspect in the shooting of a top police official in Quezon City pointed the suspect’s lair. However, the address turned out to be the campaign headquarters of a congressional candidate in Malabon City.
In Valenzuela City, police operatives are also tracking down two gunmen who ambushed and killed a Navotas City Jail officer and a woman passenger along a busy street in East Canumay district.
