Caloocan barangay heads urged to enforce proper waste disposal

MANILA, Philippines - The Caloocan City government yesterday urged the leaders of its 188 barangays to intensify their campaign on proper disposal of garbage.

“We all know that garbage has become one of the problems of the local government and its proper disposal will also help reduce the impact of global warming,” Echiverri said.

He ordered the local Environmental Sanitation Services (ESS) to spearhead the implementation of an information drive in every barangay.

Echiverri directed ESS head Al Sta. Maria to coordinate with barangay heads and discuss their problems on waste disposal and to find its immediate solution.

Despite efforts by the local government to remind residents to properly dispose of their waste, garbage still litters streets occupied by vendors.
