Pasay restaurant loses P.3 million to robbers

MANILA, Philippines - A branch of the Mang Inasal food chain in Pasay City was robbed of some P300,000 by four unidentified armed men yesterday morning.

Senior Superintendent Raul Petrasanta, Pasay police chief, said that at around 8:20 a.m., the robbers barged into the fastfood restaurant, located at the corner of Taft Avenue and Gil Puyat Avenue.

Manager Evangeline Redosendo, 30, told police investigators she and cashier Irish Anne Priolo, 21; and crewmembers Garley Diacamos, 26, and Julianne Villaraza, 20, were about to open the restaurant when the robbers suddenly barged inside.

While two of the robbers pointed their guns at the employees, two other robbers ordered Redosendo to proceed into her office and open the vault. The group was able to cart away P300,000. The victims were left unharmed.

Petrasanta said even before conducting the heist, the group first destroyed the establishment’s surveillance camera.

Senior Police Officer 1 Cris Gabutin said they are conducting a follow-up investigation.                 – Rhodina Villanueva
