MANILA, Philippines - Two men were killed when their motorcycle hit a concrete barrier along C-5 Road in Sucat, Parañaque City Monday night.
Police Officer 3 Jose Abuyog Jr. identified the fatalities as Elmer Bello, 33, a resident of Multinational Village in Parañaque City and Rogelio Beronia Jr., 23, a resident of Manuyo Dos, Las Piñas City.
Bello and Beronia died before reaching the Las Piñas District Hospital.
The police said Beronia’s older brother, Eddie, was the third person on the motorcycle but sustained only minor injuries.
Investigation showed that around 11 p.m., Bello visited his friend, Eddie, at the Beronia residence in Barangay Manuyo Dos, Las Piñas.
The elder Beronia advised Bello to spend the night at their house as he was already drunk, but Bello insisted on going home. The Beronia brothers decided to accompany Bello on his motorcycle.
Bello reportedly drove fast, and the motorcycle he was driving hit the concrete barrier when he lost control.
