MANILA, PHilippines - Globe Telecom announced yesterday that its network team is working round the clock to progressively restore telecommunications services that were adversely affected by typhoon “Ondoy.”
Company officials said while there are physical constraints due to the flooding, particularly in the Eastern Greater Manila area, Globe engineers have not stopped working in all affected areas.
They added that while they do not yet know when services will be normalized, they have significantly restored services in many areas.
Meanwhile, apart from service restorations, Globe said it is also involved in larger relief operations via their donate-a-load service with the Philippine National Red Cross. Donors can text RED<SPACE>AMOUNT< to 2899.
The firm has set up Libreng Tawag offers with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration apart from making cash donations of P1 million each to the Sagip Kapamilya and Kapuso Foundation.
Globe said it will also distribute relief goods for affected families in Marikina and Rizal today. – Mary Ann Reyes
