Lot owners complain vs rejection of housing plan

MANILA, Philippines - Lot owners are complaining against the rejection of their housing plans for a new residential community in a Quezon City subdivision.

According to the lot owners in White Plains Terraces (WPT), they were “surprised” that their housing plans were “rejected by the White Plains Homeowners Association Inc. (WPHAI).”

The rejection was supposedly for the “non-compliance with the five-meter front easement requirement” under the WPHAI construction rules and regulations.

“In the (developer) Megaworld’s WPT, only a three-meter front easement is required thereby contradicting the memorandum of agreement with WPHAI stating that WPT will comply with all construction rules and regulations of WPHAI,” they said in a statement.

“This makes the unsuspecting lot owners victims (and) unable to construct since WPT built smaller lots than the 320 square meter minimum requirement of WPHAI,” they said.

They said that at present, Megaworld Corp. has not replied to this complaint. – Reinir Padua
