MANILA, Philippines - A businessman was found dead inside a car parked at a gasoline station in Quezon City yesterday afternoon.
Superintendent Jesus Balingasa Jr., commander of the Quezon City Police District-Station 2 said the body was found inside the white Nissan Sentra left at the Shell gasoline station along Quezon Avenue.
Balingasa said based on an identification card found inside the vehicle, the victim was identified as Carlos del Rosario, 59, a resident of nearby Roxas District.
Chief Inspector Benjamin Elenzano, head of the QCPD’s Homicide Investigation Section, said the man had two gunshot wounds in the back of his head.
“Two spent shells from a .45 caliber handgun were found inside the car. However, there was no gun found inside the vehicle,” Elenzano said in an interview.
He said Del Rosario’s killer may have been positioned at the back of the vehicle, based on the gunshot wounds the victim sustained. The victim was positioned in the driver’s seat.
Elenzano said Del Rosario was the president of GenSan Enterprises and a member of the Quezon City Sports Club.
According to Balingasa, a gasoline boy checked on the parked vehicle at around 2:15 p.m. “When he (gasoline boy) peered into the heavily tinted window, he saw the dead man’s body,” he said.
Balingasa said the vehicle was reportedly parked at past 1 p.m. He said it was unclear whether there was another person in the vehicle, and no one heard gunshots from it.
