MANILA, Philippines - A former overseas Filipino worker died past midnight yesterday after he was repeatedly stabbed in the face by alleged robbers in his own house in Manila.
Byrne Feleo, 40, a resident of Agustin Francisco Street in Sta. Ana, died upon arrival at the Ospital ng Maynila.
Senior Police Officer 2 David Tuazon, of Manila Police District (MPD) homicide section, said Feleo went home late Saturday night with two male guests, with whom he had dinner and a drinking spree.
At around 12:15 a.m., a bloodied Feleo knocked at his sister-in-law Lucila Lopez’s room, asking to be brought to the hospital.
Tuazon said that according to Lopez, the two “guests” had stolen a black belt bag and Feleo’s two mobile phones. She also said the two men were gone when Feleo woke her up and asked for help.
Tuazon said a 9-inch knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was retrieved from the living room.
