Caloocan traffic rerouted for All Saints' Day

Caloocan City Mayor Enrico “Recom” Echiverri yesterday announced a traffic rerouting scheme for the All Saints’ Day celebration on Nov. 1 and 2. Echiverri reminded motorists that effective Nov. 1, the city will be implementing the traffic plan around the Sangandaan, Eternal Gardens and La Loma cemeteries.

All vehicles will not be allowed to enter the city’s three major public cemeteries effective midnight tonight.

The mayor said vehicles will be banned from entering the Sangandaan, Bagbaguin and Tala cemeteries in order to accommodate more visitants. Echiverri said traffic will be closed at the Caloocan-Malabon boundary on A. Mabini corner Gen. San Miguel in Sangandaan and A. Mabini corner A. Bato because of the Sangandaan Cemetery rerouting plan.

Vehicles coming from the City Hall area going to Sangandaan should turn right to A. Bato, left to Torres Bugallon going to Gen. San Miguel. Vehicles from Letre Road going to Monumento should turn right to A. Mabini, left to E. Jacinto, left to Torres Bugallon and to Gen. San Miguel.

Torres Bugallon will only accommodate one-way traffic going to Gen San Miguel.

In the La Loma Cemetery area, traffic will be closed at the Cabatuan corner C3-Road and Rizal Ave. corner C3-Road. Motorists from Dagat-Dagatan going to Monumento should turn left to Rizal Ave. while those coming from Monumento going to Manila must turn right to 4th Ave., left to D. Aquino, right to 2nd Ave. to C. Name and finally Hermosa.

The Eternal Gardens rerouting involves one-way traffic at East Bagong Barrio from Balintawak going to Eternal Gardens to Reparo and to Baesa Road.

Echiverri has earlier ordered the Reformed Department of Public Safety and Traffic Management to intensify security around cemeteries and bus terminals in preparation of the All Saints’ Day exodus.     – With Pete Laude
