A worker died from four gunshot wounds when he was waylaid by a lone gunman past midnight yesterday in Caloocan City.
Al Tepait, 23, a resident of Camarin in Caloocan City North, sustained three bullet wounds in the chest and one in the stomach.
Police Officer 1 Mark Andrew Bartolome, investigator of Caloocan City police North Extension Office, said an unidentified gunman shot Tepait at around 1:30 a.m. as he was buying something at a neighborhood store.
Bartolome said they are still gathering information yesterday about the victim’s other activities apart from being a construction worker to determine who could be responsible for his murder and the possible motive for his killing.
Caloocan City police chief Superintendent William Macavinta reminded his men yesterday to continue conducting visibility patrol in known crime-prone areas.
Mayor Enrico Echiverri recently provided the local police with brand new patrol cars to enable them to quickly respond to calls for help. – Pete Laude
