QC film festival to showcase student works

The first Quezon City Film Festival next month will showcase 27 short films produced by students.

Vice Mayor Herbert Bautista, action officer of the QC Film Development Commission, said the entries are from colleges and universities in Quezon City offering mass communication courses, including the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, Miriam College, St. Paul University, Trinity College of Asia and Angelicum College.

Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. is the chairman of the Commission.

“The film fest is the commission’s first undertaking. This is expected to generate more revenues for Quezon City while encouraging and promoting campus-based movie making,” Bautista said.   – Perseus Echeminada
