2 ‘nurses’ rob FX taxi passengers

Two men wearing hospital uniforms robbed four passengers of an FX taxi at gunpoint in Sampaloc, Manila yesterday morning.

Police said the early morning heist occurred inside a Quezon City-bound Mitsubishi Adventure Wagon FX taxi (TYF-455) cruising along España Boulevard in Sampaloc.

The four passenger victims, two men and two women, told police two men wearing green hospital uniforms and bullcaps boarded the vehicle and divested the four passengers of their cellular phones, cash and jewelry worth at least P76,900.

Upon reaching Quezon Avenue near the corner of D. Tuazon street in Quezon City the robbers ordered the driver, identified as Ramil Bagacay, to turn back to España Boulevard. The suspects then alighted at the corner of Eranshaw street in Sampaloc and walked away.

The victims lamented the absence of policemen on the streets, making the suspects’ easy get-away possible. – Nestor Etolle
