Two mechanics of a cold storage facility in Navotas City were abducted by at least three unidentified armed men Saturday night.
The police identified the victims as Roderick Macula and Joselito Pladin, both mechanics of Vifel Cold Storage in Barangay North Bay Boulevard North (NBBN), Navotas City.
Company supervisor Anulfo Peralta, 46, told the police that the three unidentified men, armed with .45 caliber pistols, snatched the victims on Road-10 Bagong Kalsada in Barangay NBBN at around 8:30 p.m.
The armed men, who reportedly introduced themselves as National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents, forced Macula and Pladin inside their white Mitsubishi Adventure (ZGE-728).
Peralta immediately reported the incident to the Navotas City police, but the lawmen failed to catch up with the suspects, who sped off towards Tondo, Manila.
Police Officer 3 Lorenzo Molina said their investigators were still in the field. “We are still awaiting feedback… No progress so far,” Molina told The STAR.
The area where Macula and Pladin were abducted is only a few steps away from the barracks of the Navotas City police Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team. – Pete Laude
