One of two robbery suspects who prey on commuters along the Sta. Mesa, Manila route was arrested the other night, but not after robbing the passengers of two jeepneys.
Police identified the suspect as Jessie Alcause, 28, whose companion managed to escape during a chase. “These men had victimized several jeepney passengers in the past. They robbed at least two jeepneys in a single night,” Sta. Mesa police station chief Superintendent Jimmy Tiu said.
Adrian Cuna, 20, a student, was filing a complaint at the police station after he was robbed of P1,000 by two men when police brought Alcause in for another robbery. Cuna identified Alcause as one of the suspects who held him up.
Inspector Paulito Sabulao said Alcause was nabbed following a complaint from Arkheus Antolin, 18, another student, who said Alcause robbed him of his cellular phone.
