The Muntinlupa City government is set to carry out random drug tests on city government employees at different barangays and schools.
Mayor Aldrin San Pedro had recently signed Executive Order 14, ordering all city officials and employees, regardless of their employment status, to subject themselves to random drug testing.
Dr. Raquel Tolentino, who is in charge of the city’s Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Office, said that of the 251 city hall employees tested, “eight were found positive for the use of prohibited drugs – three of those were terminated, three were referred to undergo rehabilitation while two underwent counseling.”– Rhodina Villanueva
