Actor Robin Padilla lost an expensive handgun that was stolen while in possession of the caretaker of his house in Quezon City.
Armando Rasco, 33, who also acts as a security aide at Padilla’s residence on Pines Ville street in Green View Executive Ville, Barangay Sauyo said he lost the .357 caliber Luger loaded with six live ammunitions and his own cellular phone to thieves who he claimed attacked while he was asleep in his quarters early morning last Saturday.
Superintendent Renato Valebia, commander of the Quezon City Police District-Station 4, said Rasco did not immediately report the incident to the police.
Valebia said they only heard about it on the radio, prompting him to send investigators Monday to get the statement of Rasco.
According to Rasco, he fell asleep inside a nipa hut located near the gate of the residence at around 1 a.m. last Saturday.
When he woke up an hour later, he noticed that the gun and his cellular phone were already missing.
But Valebia expressed skepticism over the report, saying other belongings inside the hut including a television were not taken away by the purported thieves.
He, however, said they are still checking whether the theft actually occurred. – Reinier Padua
