Razon denies cops paid asset to mimic Faeldon

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Avelino Razon Jr. branded as “incredible” the story of a police asset, who claimed to have disguised as fugitive Marine Capt. Nicanor Faledon and granted a television interview last week.

“This is an incredible story. It is not true,” Razon told The STAR, referring to the allegation of “Efren,” who claimed he was a police asset tapped by a police general and a police colonel to disguise as  Faeldon in exchange for P128,000.

In an interview over dzBB, Efren claimed he was instructed by PNP Directorate for Intelligence chief Director Dante Ferrer and Bulacan provincial director Senior Superintendent Allen Bentolo to disguise as Faeldon and grant a phone interview with the media.

Efren apparently got the name of the Bulacan provincial police director as he kept on saying Bentolo, when the name of the official is Allen Bantolo.

Efren also said the two police officers promised to give him P128,000 after his mission. He said Ferrer gave him the initial payment of P20,000 in the presence of Bentolo inside the White House, the official residence of the PNP chief at Camp Crame.

Efren said he did not see Razon during the meeting. Razon said it was impossible for the payment to take place at his residence since there was a logbook that shows who enters and  leaves the area. – Cecille Suerte Felipe
