2 suspected pushers caught in Malabon, Navotas

Northern Police District (NPD) policemen arrested two alleged drug pushers in separate drug busts in Malabon and Navotas Friday.

Chief Inspector Bartolome “Bong” Tarnate, NPD anti-illegal drugs special operations task group head, identified the suspects as Michael Tubalinan, 31, a resident of Barangay Catmon, Malabon City; and Ruby Cervantes, 32, a resident of Barangay Tangos, Navotas City.

At around 7:45 a.m., Tarnate’s men, led by Senior Police Officer 2 Mario Saddoy, arrested Tubalinan in Barangay Catmon after receiving information about a suspected drug peddler in the area.

Two hours after the Malabon City operation, Saddoy’s team proceeded to Navotas and arrested Cervantes, another alleged drug pusher.

Both suspects yielded a sachet of a white crystalline powder that was later confirmed to be shabu.

Charges were immediately filed against the suspects, who were still detained yesterday at the NPD detention cell. – Pete Laude
