Security firm exec nearly lynched by mob in Valenzuela

A security firm executive was nearly beaten to death by an angry mob after he reportedly shot and critically wounded a customer at a videoke bar in Valenzuela City past midnight yesterday.

Eduardo Ynfante, 45, operations manager of Regiment Security Agency, and a resident of Barangay Gen. T. de Leon, is currently confined at the Valenzuela General Hospital.

Police Officer 2 Exequiel Sangco said Ynfante was accosted and mauled by bystanders while fleeing from Mel’s Videoke Bar on San Francisco street in Barangay Karuhatan at around 12:30 a.m.

Witnesses told the police that Ynfante, for unknown reason, fired several times at Wilfredo Alegre, 36, who was sitting at a table adjacent to him.

After the incident, Ynfante tried to escape by running towards MacArthur Highway but was cornered by the chasing bystanders, who took turns beating him up until he passed out.

The timely arrival of the barangay watchmen saved him from further harm, Sangco said.

Barangay watchmen failed to recover Ynfante’s handgun, which was reportedly taken by the bystanders.

Alegre was first brought to Valenzuela General Hospital, but was later transferred to the Jose Reyes General Hospital because of his serious condition.

Sangco said charges will still be filed against Ynfante before the Valenzuela City prosecutor’s office.  Pete Laude
