Mayor Enrico Echiverri advised Caloocan City residents yesterday to collect water in preparation for the scheduled 16-hour water service interruption starting Sunday night.
Echiverri said the Maynilad Water Services sent an advisory to his office informing him of a water supply cut-off starting at 7 p.m. Sunday up to 11 a.m. Monday due to the retrieval of a 750-mm check valve along 7th Avenue corner F. Roxas street.
He said that areas that will have no water supply for 16 hours are portions of East Grace Park bounded by A. Bonifacio, 5th Avenue and 10th Avenue.
Parts of West Grace Park bounded by Rizal Avenue, 10th Avenue, 7th Avenue, and Philippine National Railway tracks; and the whole of Sangandaan and Libis area bounded by PNR tracks, C-3 Road, Libis Talisay and General San Miguel Street will also be affected.
Areas that would have low water or no water supply are the PNR and DM compounds, General San Miguel and lateral streets; Bisig ng Nayon and lateral streets; M. Hizon and Baltazar streets.
“It is better to fill your containers this early so that you could have enough supply during the scheduled water service interruption,” Echiverri told residents. – Pete Laude
