Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. cited the need to pour a considerable amount in infrastructure development to attract more investments and make lives better in Quezon City.
Quezon City engineering department officer-in-charge Joselito Cabungcal said the citys P1.42-billion infrastructure budget for 2007 will fund about 250 projects.
Based on the mayors development plan, the bulk of the 2007 projects, amounting to P900 million, or 63 percent, will be used for expanding road networks. P456 million or 32 percent will be spent for the construction of about 140 new classrooms and the repair of existing ones.
During the past five and a half years, the Quezon City governments investments in school construction and repair have supplemented significantly by as much as P2.297 billion the Department of Educations infrastructure budget in the city.
