Makati Anti-Drug Abuse Council to launch mascot

The Makati Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) will launch its official mascot tomorrow.

Antonio Montojo Jr., chief of operations of MADAC, said the mascot Kapitan Madac is a typical Pinoy superhero who is courageous, strong, honest, and cheerful.

"He represents Makati’s humane way of giving a second chance to drug offenders and their families through the Handog Kalinga Program," Montojo said.

This move also signifies the effectiveness of the agency’s anti-drug programs, which were chosen as model programs not just in the country but in Southeast Asia as well.

Coinciding with the launch of Kapitan Madac is the blessing of the three-story MADAC Building, which will house the Makati City’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force and the MADAC Task Force and staff.

Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay and Vice Mayor and MADAC chairman Ernesto Mercado will lead the twin ceremonies.
