Police identified the victim as Oliver Alinsoot, a resident of Pitong Gatang st., Bgy. Sipac-Almacin, Navotas.
At around 1 p.m., Edgar Angeles, 23, a worker, informed the local police that he saw the body of a boy near the bank of the river in Bgy. San Jose.
Inspector Edgardo Tengson, the town’s police chief investigator, tasked PO2 Nicanor Zablan to verify Angeles’ report.
Accompanied by Angeles, Zablan went to the area and found the victim clad in a black short pants and green shirt floating in the murky water.
Initial examination in the boy’s body showed that it sustained a bullet wound in the nape that exited through his forehead.
The victim was identified yesterday morning when his mother, Teresita Alinsoot, 39, went to the police station to report his missing son.
Police were still investigating the case yesterday.
As this developed, the local police are yet to apprehend the suspect in the near fatal attack of a five-year-old girl Thursday also in Bgy. San Jose.
The victim, who is now recuperating in a hospital, sustained at least 61 slash and stab wounds.
Meantime, Mayor Toby Tiangco ordered the police Friday to get the suspect, believed to be a drug addict, "at all cost."
