Operatives of the local police, on orders of Mayor Toby Tiangco, who noticed a growing incidence of said violations of municipal ordinances, went off to several barangays in the municipality.

Arrested for violating Municipal Ordinance 2002-06 (Drinking in Public Places) were Arnel Gunag, 38 seaman; Boddie Saragay, 40, both of Sitio Putting Bato; Domingo Empasis, 30, fishporter; Elpidio Anduque, 40, housepainter; and Romy Pamplina, 39, the last three of Sitio Sto. Niño.

The police rounded up eight males from both places identified as Dodoy Nario, 39, fishporter; Ramel Aniban, 17; Eddie Reyes, 35; Reynaldo Dasayfan, 36; Joseph Gulosinda, 27. All suspects come from Barangay North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS), Navotas, the most populous of the town’s barangays.

A joint posse of the local police and municipal personnel belonging to Task Force Disiplina launched the round-up at around 4 p.m. in Barangays NBBS. The apprehending officers also brought to the police station persons loitering in the area and booked them for vagrancy. They were held pending verification of pending arrest warrants. — Jerry Botial
