Water service cut-off in Manila

Some areas of Manila unaffected by the water supply shortage will have no water for 20 hours starting at 11 p.m. today until 7 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday.

Maynilad Water said the water service interruption is due to the insertion of a 500 mm butterfly valve on the existing 500 mm CIP mainline along Pureza street corner Anonas street in Sta. Mesa, Manila.

There will also be a water service interruption in Paco, Ermita and Malate, Manila for eight hours starting at 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. this Monday, March 14. This is due to the installation of a flow meter on the 300-mm CIP mainline along Pedro Gil near corner F.T. Benitez, Manila.

The areas that will have no water for 20 hours are those bounded by R. Magsaysay Avenue, Pureza and Nagtahan (including lateral streets in Sta. Mesa, Manila), as well as those bounded by Estero de Pandacan, Pasig River and Jesus Beata (including lateral streets in Pandacan, Manila).

Areas that will have no water for eight hours, on the other hand, are those bounded by F.T. Benitez, Padre Faura, M.Adriatico and Quirino Avenue, Manila.

The repair and maintenance works are part of Maynilad’s continuing program to upgrade and improve its water service to its customers in the West Zone.

Affected customers are advised to store water good for the duration of the water service interruption.

They may also call Maynilad Water Hotline 1626 for the water-rationing schedule.
