P10-M for beat patrol cops

Metro police chief Director Avelino Razon Jr. has announced the release of P10 million additional subsistence allowance for beat patrollers of the five police districts of the National Capital Regional Police Office and the Regional Special Action Unit as promised by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Deputy Director General Edgar Aglipay.

Razon said the release of the fund was timely as the PNP implements its "no take" policy in waging a battle against extortion.

"The additional subsistence allowance would help our cops cope up with the hard times. It may not be much, but for a really dedicated cop, the sum would go a long way in making both ends meet and keeping himself glued to the rules," Razon said.

Of the P10 million fund, P2.165 million went to the Central Police District, P1.8 million to the Western Police District, P1.7 million to the Southern Police District, P1.2 million to the Northern Police District and P1.080 million to the Eastern Police District.

The RSAU received P1.196 million while the Regional Headquarters Security Group got P756,000. Nestor Etolle, Non Alquitran
