Pasig hires teachers

Pasig City Mayor Vicente Eusebio has announced that the city government of Pasig hired contractual teachers for schoolyear 2004-2005 to augment the present teaching force in all elementary and secondary public schools in the city.

Eusebio said his administration is committed to give the best educational program to his constituents and that hiring additional contractual teachers to augment the present teaching force provided by the Department of Education is but one of his essential programs.

The Pasig City government is commited to reaching the ideal 1:45 ratio between teachers and students population and has built several multi-storey buildings in all public elementary and secondary schools in the city. In addition, Pasig has also been giving away free shoes, bags, textbooks and other school supplies to students from primary to collegiate level on top of the free tuition fees they had been enjoying.

"Education is still my administration’s priority, that is why we are doing everything possible to encourage parents to keep sending their children to school, for students to concentrate on acquiring knowledge that would be essential to them in life and to ensure that the progress the city is enjoying will be sustained by the future leaders of Pasig," Eusebio said.
