Bautista said certain candidates lagging behind the election campaign are becoming upset and are now resorting to all sorts of misinformation, false pretense and deceit that unfortunately created the perception that there is unrest in Quezon City.
"The irony is that they have the nerve and temerity to call on other candidates not to resort to dirty tricks while they themselves are the ones who are making use of such unfair plays," he said.
In rallying the Quezon City populace in favor of the present leadership, Bautista stressed that "residents have to understand precisely whats really happening and from this cause, explain this to others."
He said that Quezon City, now the countrys richest city has just been recently cited by the Department of Interior and Local Government as a model of good governance.
"This is a mark of distinction which other government units should endeavor to emulate and replicate to achieve progress and development," Bautista said.
Such an award is on top of the personal citations given to Belmonte and Bautista who were both named recently as the Most Outstanding Mayor and Vice Mayor of the Philippines, respectively.
The vice mayor also took notice of the prevailing entrepreneur culture in the city, vigorously being pushed by the government.
"At this point, theres pride in efficient revenue collection and simplified business applications. In getting rid of red tape and delay in the processing of permits, things are achieved in less time with less waste but with more positive impact."
He said professionalism has been enhanced in service as well, including provisions toward efficiency and competence.
"With these, political will is gained along with the cooperation and partnership of the civil society, thus making it easier to address other major city concerns," he said. Perseus Echeminada
